Special Feature -- FightSMA was proud to support the 35th Annual Meeting of the Child Neurology Society being held October 18-21, 2006 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. FightSMA sponsored the "FightSMA Young Investigator Awards" which brought 18 M.D. and Ph.D. students to Pittsburgh for meetings on the 18th and 19th and to encourage an interest in SMA. There was a breakfast on October 19th to honor these winners and to address them on behalf of SMA. Also, read the journal article Spinal Muscular Atrophy: Classification, Diagnosis, Management, Pathogenesis, and Future Research Directions which was presented at the "Neurobiology of Disease in Children: Symposium on Spinal Muscular Atrophy," in conjunction with the annual CNS meeting, supported by a grant from FightSMA.
